Looking for a Windsor Family History? 

Windsor Public Library does not have staff to perform detailed genealogical or local history research. We offer this list of resources in hopes that it will aid you in your search. We've included both books that you may refer to, and a few organizations you can contact for more information.


If you are looking for detailed historical information about the Town of Windsor, or its original settlers, our best local resource is the Windsor Historical Society. They are open from 11-4, Wednesdays through Saturdays, and can also be reached at (860)688-3813.


The Library has a subscription to for the indepth genealogist or the casual family history seeker. Access to Ancestry is available only from inside the library or the Wilson Branch.


Two other key sites on the Web:  the Genealogy site by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the new American Family Immigration History Center, out of Ellis Island, New York.
