Scene It! On the Big Screen

Seminar for New Drivers

Do you have questions about how to get your driver’s license? Do the changes in the laws confuse you? Come to the Seminar for New Drivers at the WPL to get answers! This program for teens who will be 15 & older in 2010 (and their parents) will explain what to do to get a license, recent changes in the laws, tips about insurance, and the expectations that come with getting a license. The seminar will include a presentation from Jessica Roach of Global Driving School and a question & answer period featuring a panel of experts on information for new drivers.

 

Nutmeg Book Blitz!

nutmegThe Nutmeg Book Award is an annual award given to one book a year that is selected by students in Connecticut – So it is up to you who wins! All 6th, 7th & 8th grade students who would like to cast a vote for their favorite Teen-level Nutmeg Nominee this year (or who cast their votes at school) are invited to a Book Blitz Party. Come to the Windsor Public Library to play some games, win some prizes, eat some food, and vote for your choice of the best book in Connecticut. For students in 6th, 7th & 8th grades (who read at least two of the books). Please register in advance by calling 860-285-1918.

 

Chocolate Party for Teens!

WPL Games!

ringsUSA! USA! USA! Cheer on the United States in the 2010 Winter Olympics while challenging your friends in this T.A.G.-sponsored event. Come to the WPL to compete in a variety of winter games to see who can win the most gold, silver and bronze medals from 3:30 – 5:30 PM. Contests of all types will be included—both luck and skill will need to be on your side to win! Refreshments will be provided. Open to Teens in grades 6-12.

 

Photo Scavenger Hunt

Looking for something interesting to do during February vacation? Tired (after months of snow) of the same old indoor activities? Check out this digital scavenger hunt! We’ll challenge teams to take 20 very specific photos – all with a creative twist! At the end of the challenge, we will all share the photos and choose a winning team. Refreshments will be provided. Open to Teens in grades 6-12. Please register in advance (although last-minute drop-ins are welcome).

Do you think you can dance? Improve your dance skills, learn some new moves, and have fun at the WPL! Dance teacher and choreographer Lisa Ramaccia will be at the library to teach dancers of all experience levels some of the hottest moves in Hip Hop. Call to register in advance, or just stop by! Open to teens in grades 6-12. Refreshments will be served.
