Advisory Group
TAG MISSION STATEMENT
The Windsor Public Library Teen Advisory Group is committed to providing teens with materials, programs, and information they need to help them meet lifelong learning, cultural and recreational goals. The Teen Advisory Group encourages teen involvement in the library through creative original programming, volunteering, and promoting the library in the community.
What is TAG?
TAG is the Teen Advisory Group at WPL. As members of
TAG< teens have a say on events, materials, and perhaps even
library policies. Young Adults in TAG work with library
staff to create exciting and interesting programs and
activities for teens and help to bring other teens into the
library. TAG is open to all teens ages 13 - 18 living in
Windsor.
What Can
I Do as a TAG Member? Plenty!
Suggest
materials for purchase
Help plan and perform programs
Help work on the TAG web page
Create a teen library newsletter
Write book reviews
Help lead book, music, and/or movie discussions
Create teen-oriented displays to promote reading
Help raise funds for materials and programs
Where and
when do we meet?
Meetings are held at the library after school. There
will be monthly meetings during the school year and additional
meetings when preparing for big events and programs.
What do I
have to do?
The TAG attends monthly meetings and works with other TAG
members to help show what the library has to offer. You
will be expected to have positive ideas, be able to listen and
work with others, and be dedicated to improving young adult
services at the library. The TAG receives assistance and
guidance from a WPL staff member whose responsibilities
include organizing meetings, keeping members aware of
available resources and boundaries of the group, and providing
the snacks.
