Voice Mail Tips

Please speak clearly and don't rush....
You have as much time as you need with voice mail.

Give your name and telephone number first....
If you are calling after hours, remember to give the number where you will be the following day. If it is convenient, give us both day and evening numbers.

State the information you need....
Please be as specific as possible. If you feel comfortable telling us why you need the information, it is very helpful. Some examples:

  • I need information on Microsoft Corporation because... I have a job interview on Monday...I want to know what new software they are developing...I want to invest in the company...I want to write to the president to complain...I'm writing a research paper.
  • Do you own the book "Daddy" by Danielle Steel and is it available today?
  • Which libraries in the area own the Feb. 1994 issue of "Yachting"?
  • I need general information on diabetes, as well as diabetes cookbooks and the address of a local support group.
  • Are there current magazine articles available on Attention Deficit Disorder in adults?
All library answers are confidential....
If it is okay for us to leave a detailed answer on your answering machine, please say so. Otherwise, we will just leave a message that the library called.
