Teen Read-A-Thon

Students registered for the Get Drawn In @ Your Library summer reading program are invited to join us for a special late-night event!  Wear your pajamas, bring your pillows, and settle down in the library to finish your required reading for school or to add a few more points to your program totals.  We’ll provide some food, some games, and maybe a few surprises!  Registration for this event begins July 1—Please register by calling 285-1918.

 

Superhero Cartoon Workshop

 Have you ever wanted to create your own superhero? Here’s your chance!
The library is hosting a Cartoon Workshop where students in 4
th through 8th grade can learn some basic art principles from a professional artist on how to draw cartoon faces and figures to create unique characters and stories.  Put your talent to work, register beginning July 7 by calling 285-1914.

 

Superhero Movie Marathon

Reality Show Blitz!

Celebrate the End of Drawn In @ Your Library!

Join us as we celebrate the end of the Teen Summer Reading Program by participating in a challenge based on all of your favorite reality shows, from “Survivor,” to “Amazing Race,” to “Fear Factor,” to “America’s Next Top Model.”  We will be physical, we will be intellectual, we will be messy (weather permitting), and we will be fun!  Please wear comfortable (old) clothes and come to play for keeps.  Summer Reading Prizes will be awarded and delicious food will be eaten.  This exciting event is for students entering grades 6-12 who participated in the Teen Summer Reading Program.  Please register in advance by calling 285-1918.

 

 

 

 

 

 

T-Shirt Re-Mix

       Do you have an old T-shirt that doesn’t quite look the way you want it to any more?  Are you looking for a new style to start the new school year?  Look no further!  Turn those old T-shirts into new styles… without sewing.*  Bring one or two old T-shirts to re-style, and we’ll provide the patterns, the know-how, and the snacks.  (*Be aware we will be attacking the shirts with scissors, so make sure whatever you bring, you’re okay with  cutting them up.)  Please register in advance by calling 285-1918.
