Getting a Library Card
Library cards are available to any resident of the town of Windsor. To obtain a card, one must bring proof of residence to the circulation desk. Patrons under the age of 18 may obtain a library card with a parent or guardian present during the application process. Windsor Library cards may be used in any library in the state of Connecticut.
Lost library cards can be replaced for a $2.00 service fee. Library card privileges will be temporarily revoked for patrons who have accrued more than $10 in fines and fees on their account.

Checking Out Materials

Any item can be renewed for one additional loan period as long another patron is has not requested to take it out next.
Faxing to anywhere in the U.S. is available at the circulation desk. The cost is $1.95 for the first page $1.00 for each additional page. The library provides patrons with a complimentary cover sheet, which is sent with the fax at no additional cost to the patron. We are unable to send international faxes at this time.
Stamps and Envelopes
We do not sell large envelopes or file folders.
Patrons requesting notary services will need to provide the notary with two forms of ID containing a signature. At least one of those IDs must also have a photograph on it. Birth certificates and social security cards are not acceptable forms of ID. The most common combination is a valid driver’s license and a credit card. See Section 4.4 Determining Identity of the Connecticut Notary Public Manual for more information.
The fee for this service is $25 per test. This fee will include one-time return mail, and or fax costs. (First Class US mail ~ to be sent out on the next business day following the exam.) The proctor fee must be paid at the time the appointment is scheduled.
The Wilson Branch has 12 public computers with internet access, Microsoft Office and printing capability. Patrons may use their library card to log into the computers for two hours each day.
Patrons without a library card may use the computers with the purchase of a guest pass for $1.
Printing and Copying
Patrons may print from the public computers to our copier for $.20 per page in black and white and $.50 per page in color. Copies can be made for the same price.

The Wilson Branch has a self-service multi-page scanner available for public use at the circulation desk. It can send scans straight to an email address or thumb drive. It can output files in JPG, PDF and TIFF formats and scan items in color and black and white up to 600 DPI. There is no cost to use the public scanner.
