The Wilson Branch Library is a wonderful community meeting place that serves the needs of a variety of Windsor and Wilson area residents. The library has a collection of about 15,000 items, including:

Books for children and adults, including fiction and nonfiction items and some reference material. The library has a wonderful selection of paperbacks to browse.
Magazines, that cover a wide variety of topics. We have a very popular collection, and each can be taken out from the day they arrive. Currently there are over 50 subscriptions.
DVD and Videos that are primarily feature length entertainment films. There are new titles every week!
Books on tape and CD are very popular, and mainly include fiction items.

The Wilson Branch boasts a very large Spanish and Spanish/English collection that the Main Library does not have.

Wii Gaming at the Wilson Branch Library
On the second and fourth Friday of the month, the Wilson Kids Group will host Spectacular Fridays of Wii games for all ages. Come and experience Wii Bowling, Baseball, Boxing, and many other fun games.

Directions

From I-91 North, take Exit 34, which is Rte 159 (Windsor Ave.) Head North on Windsor Avenue. The library is located at the corner of Windsor Ave. and Faneuil St., on the left hand side.

From I-91 South, take Exit 36, which is Rte 178 (Park Ave.) Turn left at the end of the offramp, following Park Ave. until you reach Rte 159. Turn right, and follow Rte 159 until you get to Wilson Branch (just past the I-291 underpass) at the corner of Rte 159 (Windsor Ave.) and Faneuil St. ( We'll be on the right hand side).

 

  Children's Programs

After School Tutoring Program
Our  program matches volunteer tutors one on one with students (Grades 1-8) who need assistance in Math or Reading.  Each tutor and their student work together for 1 hour per week during the school year.  Sessions are available on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.  The Tutoring Program is free of charge.  To register a student, please call the library at 247-8960.

Field Trips!
There are several that take place each year! We will take you to such places as the Mystic Aquarium, Mark Twain House, Dinosaur State Park, Gillette Castle, Old Newgate Prison... and many more exciting places. You can check newspapers, WIN-TV, or call 247-8960 for information regarding upcoming trips.

  Adult Programs

Computers
Anyone wishing to use the computers will need to have a valid library card. If you do not have your library card you may purchase a 1 hour pass for $1.00. The Wilson Branch Library has 5 public computers with access to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.  Patrons can surf the internet free of charge.  There is also a wireless connection for laptop users.

Crafters Unite
This group meets each Thursday from 10:30 am to 12 pm, year round. Adults join to work on crafts together, and to learn from one another. Group members bake refreshments for each meeting. Drop-ins are always welcome!

Fax Services
Faxing to anywhere in the U.S. is available.  Cost is $1.95 for the first page $1.00 for every page after.

Telephone Renewal
Just like at the Main Library, you can renew borrowed materials over the phone. Just call 247-8960, and be ready with your library card number!
