Artist Biography

Brad Robinson’s mobiles are influenced by his background as a biologist and master naturalist. The recurring themes in his work of birds and fish are reflective of this experience. He has also been Inspired by the work of Alexander Calder and Asian art.

Brad creates an image with a minimum of lines, relying on movement and the viewer’s eye to complete the form. The aesthetic challenge to create sculpture in four dimensions holds an appeal to both the scientist and artist in him. Brad works with a variety of materials, such as wire, metal, and found objects like driftwood. A participant in Hartford Open Studio, his work is in private collections and was featured in a solo show at Norfolk Public Library.
