Bring Your Gadgets to the Geeks

The Geek is returning this Fall! Starting September 7 you can find IT Librarian Denise Ricotta in Meeting Room 2 on Tuesday afternoons between 2:30 – 4:30 pm. Drop in with your device and your questions.  In the meantime you can enjoy Denise’s videos on our Facebook page or on YouTube in the Bring Your Gadgets to the Geeks Playlist.

Computer Basics

Do you want to be technologically independent, but don’t know where to start? Stop by the Wilson Branch Library to learn Computer Basics. Together, we will go over basic tasks to get you familiar with computers. This is aIntro to Microsoft Word drop in class. No registration required.

Class runs from 10:45 AM – 11:45 AM on select Tuesdays.

Internet & Smartphone Basics

The Wilson Branch Library offers drop-in workshops to help you learn tips and tricks to understand different internet browsers and smartphone applications. This is a drop in class. No registration required.

Classes are held on select Thursdays from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Become a Mac / iOS super user

The Wilson Branch Library offers drop-in workshops to help you learn tips and tricks to maximize your use of various Apple products. This is a drop in program. No registration required.

Intro to Microsoft Word

The Wilson Branch Library is offering a three-part Introduction to Microsoft Word class. Registration required by phone, online, or in person. 

Registration will open on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Click here to register or call 860-247-8960. 

  • Level 1 will be held on Tuesday, September 21 from 11:15 AM – 12:45 PM.
  • Level 2 will be held on Tuesday, September 28 from 11:15 AM – 12:45 PM.
  • Level 3 will be held on Tuesday, October 5 from 11:15 AM – 12:45 PM.

Participation in Level 1 is required to register for Level 2 & 3.

Space is limited to 10 students. Participants must be experienced using a mouse, track pad and keyboard.

Zoom Instruction Class

The Main Library in conjunction with the Senior Center is offering a Zoom Instruction Class. 

This class will be held at the Main Library on Monday, October 25 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. Please call 860-285-1918 or go here to register. 

This class will be held at the Senior Center on Monday, November 15 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Please call 860-285-1992 to register. 

    Participants must be experienced using a mouse, track pad and keyboard. It is ideal if participants can bring their own device to the library or Senior Center.
